The requirements for refrigeration and air conditioning technology have changed significantly in recent years. While performance and reliability used to be the main focus, sustainability, energy efficiency and ease of maintenance are now increasingly taking centre stage.
Legal requirements are forcing the industry to use more environmentally friendly refrigerants with a lower global warming potential (GWP), and rising energy prices are making efficient technologies indispensable. At the same time, system operators must ensure that their systems run smoothly and cost-effectively - a challenge that is often made more difficult by long downtimes and costly maintenance work.
At KRIWAN, we are aware of these challenges and are constantly working to develop solutions that both protect the environment and optimise operations. With our new ADAPT level sensors, we have taken a decisive step forward: They combine sustainability and ease of maintenance in one system, offering a solution that fulfils the requirements of modern refrigeration and air conditioning technology and is future-proof at the same time.
Sustainability as a key challenge
Climate change and its consequences make it necessary for us to break new ground in refrigeration and air conditioning technology. Stricter environmental regulations and international agreements are pushing for the use of refrigerants with a low global warming potential. However, switching to these refrigerants is only part of the solution. It also requires technologies that are energy-efficient, durable and minimise the carbon footprint of the entire system.
Our level sensors ADAPT are specially designed to fulfil these requirements. They are compatible with the latest environmentally friendly refrigerants, enabling seamless integration into systems designed for sustainability. Thanks to their robust design and high temperature resistance - up to 160°C - they are also suitable for demanding applications such as industrial refrigeration systems and heat pumps. Especially in these areas, where high-temperature refrigerants are increasingly being used, precise and reliable sensors are crucial to ensure operation while minimising environmental impact.
But for us, sustainability does not end with the refrigerant. Our sensors are designed to work reliably for many years, reducing the need for replacement and the associated material consumption. Every step we take towards longevity and resource conservation helps to reduce the environmental impact - and that is precisely our goal.
Ease of maintenance: efficiency without compromise
However, sustainability alone is not enough to fulfil practical requirements. Refrigeration and air conditioning technology is an area in which failures and downtimes quickly result in high costs. Many conventional level sensors require the entire system to be evacuated when they are replaced, a process that is not only time-consuming but also entails high operating costs and an unnecessary loss of refrigerant.
With the level sensors ADAPT, we are focussing on an innovative design that solves these problems. The modular design makes it possible to leave the screw-in part in the system permanently, while the electronic unit can be replaced quickly and easily if necessary. This means no evacuation of the system, no long downtimes and no unnecessary costs. Thanks to the integrated M12 plug connection, the cable now also remains firmly anchored in the wiring harness, while the electronics unit can be replaced flexibly. This not only makes replacement easier, but also significantly faster and more cost-efficient.
This maintenance-friendly design is a decisive advantage for operators who want to operate their systems as efficiently as possible. By simplifying maintenance, we not only reduce the time required, but also help to ensure operational continuity. After all, smooth operation is the basis for economic success - and that is exactly what we want to support with our sensors.
The combination makes the difference
Sustainability and ease of maintenance are not opposites - on the contrary. When developing our level sensors ADAPT, we made a conscious effort to ensure that both aspects interact and complement each other. Sustainable solutions that are easy to maintain save resources and reduce operating costs. At the same time, maintenance-friendly technology helps to minimise downtimes and reduce the carbon footprint of the entire system.
Our level sensors ADAPT show how this interaction works. They not only offer high temperature resistance and compatibility with modern refrigerants, but also a modular design that enables easy maintenance. For operators, this means a solution that not only fulfils current requirements, but is also prepared for future challenges.
A look into the future
Refrigeration and air conditioning technology is constantly evolving, and with it the demands on the technologies used. With our ADAPT level sensors, we at KRIWAN are proud to offer a solution that meets current challenges and is future-proof at the same time. Sustainability, efficiency and operational safety are at the centre of this - values that guide us as a company and which we implement in every one of our products.
